What is Kombucha?

Before gracing the shelves of the local supermarket, it was served as “the tea of immortality” in ancient China through to the Soviet’s “miracle mushroom drink” in WW1.

Kombucha is essentially fermented tea.

It's made by placing a SCOBY (symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast), into sweetened black and/or green tea. After a period of time, the SCOBY consumes the sugar in the tea and transforms it into a tangy, naturally carbonated beverage. It’s a great substitution for sugary beverages, like soft drink and contains some tremendous health benefits that are not only good for your gut and overall well being, but also great for boosting energy and promoting healing.

BENEFITS OF KOMBUCHA

Apart from just the "probiotic benefit" marketed by the commercial brewers, natural raw kombucha also possesses a slew of proven benefits linked to a large amount of healthy organic acids in the drink. Real kombucha has incredible anti-inflammatory effects that can benefit people from all walks of life, from athletes to the elderly.
